Today class one had a very special visitor.......Toby the tortoise. In Science we have been learning all about animals and the different groups they can be in. Mr Lightfoot very kindly brought in his tortoise Toby from home for us to have a look at. We found out all sorts of information about tortoises and loved meeting him. Mr Lightfoot told us about what Toby likes to eat, how he keeps him warm and he even showed us how Toby has a bath!
Class 1 had lots of fun today celebrating World Book Day. I was so pleased to see them all in their fantastic costumes. We talked about our favourite books and designed our own book marks. We even drew some selfies of our favourite story book characters.
In our numeracy lessons we have been learning about different ways to solve multiplications. We have used grouping, repeated addition and multiplying using a number line. Today we started to use arrays. We worked in pairs to create our arrays with counters. It was lots of fun.
Our Literacy unit this half term has been Traditional Tales. We have really enjoyed reading all of the different stories and we have produced some super writing. In our art lesson we designed a gingerbread man on paper. Then we brought our gingerbread men to life by decorating some gingerbread men with icing. We then got to eat the gingerbread men. They were delicious.
